Our cover crop is composed of 12 different types of legumes and grain seeds, all of which are designed to help facilitate an incredibly productive source of green manure, all while inoculating your soil with beneficial microbes and mycelium!
How does it work?
Cover crops work on growing fast, producing green crops that can be harvested and turned into topsoil as a quick and effective source of closed-loop topdressing.
Many of the seeds in our mixture are legumes, which undergo a process called nitrogen fixation, which allows them to extract nitrogen from the atmosphere. This ultimately increases the soil's nitrogen content when the crop is harvested and composted back into the soil.
Mycellium and Mycorrhizae can establish themselves in the soil/compost pile by spreading the root/rhizome of the cover crop. This assists your plants to 'hit the ground running' when you transplant your next crop into the soil, as its pre-inoculated with amazing biology!
How to use it?
Sparingly apply a handful to the top of a 5-gallon pot, allowing the plants to grow and creating a thriving biosphere of microbes, nutrients and beneficial organisms. This is a long-lasting biological mulch that will help your crop thrive!
We strongly recommend not to germinate your crop seeds simultaneously as germinating the cover crop. Apply cover crop only to established plants.
